Winner of the blog hop giveaway is.......

#9 Pip at rest is not idleness!

Sorry about not displaying the Random.org box but for some reason I am unable to post it here with numbers in it. In fact I've just discovered I can't post any widgets on this blog so if anyone out there can give me some advice I'd really appreciate it as I'm still a bit blogger challenged with new things!!

Anonymous Comments

I have received another couple of anonymous comments requesting help on items that aren't related to blogging and are freely available over the net. The latest one said they are new to the site?? Well it's obviously not blogger they are new too as the question was about gaming (again!) which I think is a waste of time so I know nothing about it!
Sorry people but I've been caught before by these commenters and earned a trojan virus for it that lost me some sentimental photos because I THOUGHT I was helping someone!!
That's why all comments on this blog are moderated. If they don't pass my scrutiny or look vaguely suspicious they are deleted. I don't have enough comments yet to bother about authentication codes and I have plenty of time for moderating.
Apologies to anyone I may have deleted who posted an honest comment/enquiry. Apologies also to the victims of my satellite broadband which occasionally sends messages off into the never never of cyberspace!!

Oops! Blog hop error.

Only realised this morning that I didn't put the full date for the start of the Blog Hop. It should say 'Friday 25th Feb'. I should have made sure my brain was engaged before putting the fingers into motion.
More on this soon :).

On My Mind

After reading Rai's blog and deciding to join in it has been on my mind to finish these as I've been going to do them for a while. Any guesses as to what they will be?

One Good Deed

Rai has had  a lovely idea  to do one good deed a day. It doesn't have to be a world shaker and it doesn't have to be done for someone you don't know if you don't want to. Making a coffee for your partner when they come home would be a nice unexpected welcome for them, or a batch of homemade biscuits for the kids to snack on if you don't normally have time to do much cooking.
Click on the button in the left sidebar to go to the post on this and see if you want to join us.

Missed!

Last year I was in a swap for a decorated shopping bag and I've just discovered I didn't post about it so here are the photos.

Lovely Sandy always does beautiful embroidery and she even sent me a couple of hexies to sew on the sides after she'd sent the bag as she noticed that someone else had covered the supermarket logos on one they'd done and wasn't happy that she hadn't covered the ones on my bag! The same patterned material covers the centre of the reverse side of the bag. I take this bag with me for my craft shopping.....no groceries will ever see the inside of this bag, unless it's a box of choccies.
I can't post the bag I made for Marg as I neglected to take a photo of it :(.

Blog Hopping

Starts on Friday, involves this blog and there will be giveaways :D.

SSGC#2 - Alternative

The song I chose for this theme was 'Ordinary' and it's been a while since I did grunge so it took some time to put this together.

I hand cut the rays and the flower from a grunge paper and I popped in the little brads just to add a nice enclosing detail in bare corners. The base is a really dark chocolate brown paper.

Follow the Glee Club link in my sidebar to see how others interpreted grunge.

Gay Geraniums!

Tut tut... I'm using the word gay as it's original definition - bright or showy - not it's 'modern' definition so no one needs to become offended over this. Anyway, I have a relative and a friend who'd be delighted to be known as bright and showy as well :D.
Over at Stray Stitches, Linda is giving away 5 yards of 'Cute as a Button' fabric in pinks and greens. You have until Monday, February 21st at 11:59 PM PST to enter but don't forget about it in the meantime!
Check out the other giveaways, facts and BOM's while you're there :D.

SSGC#1 - Classic Rock

This was the first challenge for the Soul Scrappers Glee Club and we were give a list of Beatles songs to choose from and we had to use the Classic Rock genre as a basis for our layout.

My interpretation was from the 70's with torn edge denim looking paper at the bottom of the layout, cheesecloth looking paper at the top, glitter title and rhinestones and a couple of zipper flowers thrown in for a bit of extra embellishment.

For some extra points we could enter a mini challenge and make a card based on a word from the Beatles song title. I chose the word 'day' and created this.

I'm quite happy with the first scrapping I've done in a while ;).

The next challenge is 'Alternative Rock' and the band is 'Train'. This will be interesting :P.

Click on the Glee Club button if you want to see what other members are creating.
